You had me at infographic.
I’m obsessed with statistics. And rankings. And top ten lists.
And if you present them to me in easy-to-scan graphs and colourful iconography - boom, I’m yours.
But it’s not the list itself but the insights we can derive from the data.
For instance, I discovered the top 10 Axios-Harris 2023 Brand Reputation Poll, ranking the best and worst mix of industries, including retail, technology and automotive (link in comments).
If Apple immediately springs to mind as the winner, you’d be wrong.
It’s #10.
I can tell you from personal experience, these companies (and a lot of my client corporations) invest in these traits:
Consistency & reliability. Delivering quality products, services and experiences.
Customer-centric approach. Actively seeking feedback, engaging in communication.
Transparency & Authenticity. Internally and externally. Demonstrated by leadership. Walking the talk.
Ethical practices. Including fair treatment of employees.
Innovation. Adapt or die. It’s that simple.
Employee engagement. Do you see the word employee here a lot? Happy employees deliver above-average results.
Long-term vision. With an adaptive approach that allows for rapidly changing information, technology and environments.
Community building. Purposely invest time and money in building an authentic community of brand advocates.
Crisis Management. Take responsibility. Respond promptly. Admit mistakes.
Consistent Branding. Messages are clear. Repeated across all touchpoints and nothing is over-promised. Deeds match words.
Are you working for a company that excels in these areas?
If you are, good for you.
If you aren’t, why not?
And if you’re a senior executive who sees any gaps, message me.
I’m happy to share insights into how I help my well-respected clients get on these lists.
