Stop Solving Problems—Start Scaling People

ree

Making the mental shift from execution to impact.

One of the toughest truths I share with clients stepping into executive roles is this: you’re no longer measured by what you do, but by what others achieve because of you.

It’s a massive mindset shift. You go from solving problems to scaling people. From checking boxes to building capability. And from day-to-day wins to long-term impact.

I remember one coaching session where a new VP told me, “I feel like I talk all day and accomplish nothing.” We dug deeper—and guess what? She’d aligned her team on strategy, coached a struggling manager, and paved the way for a big cross-functional win. Invisible? Maybe. Impactful? Absolutely.

If you're finding yourself in this space, pause and reflect. You’re not failing—you’re evolving. The metrics have changed, and so must your leadership identity.

Let go of the need to be in every meeting or solve every issue. Build systems. Ask great questions. Empower your team to lead without you.

That’s not stepping back. That’s stepping up.
