Assumptions, Expectations and Accountability

Ground Control to Major Tom, your circuit's dead, there’s something wrong.

Today's topic, courtesy of Ziggy Stardust, is communication. As leaders, it's crucial that we delegate clearly and intentionally, while also receiving feedback to ensure success. Don't assume your team has heard and understood everything. Be intentional with your communication by actively listening, asking clarifying questions, and being crystal clear on expectations.

Assigning and receiving confirmation for accountability is also crucial. Feedback to questions or concerns should be specific, timely, and actionable.

Once everyone is clear, give them space to work things out. Micro-managing every element won't get you out of the weeds.
