Patience Makes a Great Leader

A group of technical professionals smiling at the camera

Patience beats speed.

I believe this in my approach to physical training, coaching leaders or cooking, and all areas of my life. It’s a leader’s secret ingredient, separating them from ‘good’ to ‘great'.

This isn’t about sitting idly or waiting for things ‘to get better’. It’s about fostering an environment of understanding, empathy and perseverance. Lasting success requires thoughtful and patient leadership.

Practicing patience creates space for team members to feel valued and supported. Leaders can navigate better through uncertainties - which come a mile a minute these days.

And when things go off the rails, patience allows everyone to make well-informed decisions and lead with clarity. Adapting to change is a muscle that needs to be exercised.

Focus on the goal, be flexible in your methods, watch things unfold and stay committed to long-term success.
