What Can A Company Do To Train Better Managers?

Space X rocket launching from the launch pad.

Resuming my workouts has led me to indulge in my favourite guilty pleasure, a classic sandwich. Recently, I stumbled upon a local grocer's 'Bestest Ever - I'm So Hungry - Lunch Sandwich' (my name, not theirs).

But what I enjoy more than the sandwich itself is the passion and dedication of the owner and staff.

From the manager's straightforward yet friendly demeanour to his emphasis on clear communication, open dialogue, and staff feedback, it's clear that he goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service. He ensures that his team understands not only what they have to do, but why it needs to be done a certain way.

I was impressed by how he holds staff meetings every morning, where he discusses his concerns and needs with the owner and the team. Even new customers are treated like family, demonstrating the roles, actions, and accountability he expects from his entire team.

It's a prime example of active listening and great managing-up skills.

I'm considering bringing a group of my middle manager/clients here to learn and observe every aspect of what we're trying to achieve for their business.

It's definitely a lunch and learn of the very best kind.
