Leadership Starts at Home

Because the way we show up at home shapes the way we lead everywhere else.

I’m honoured to be one of the dads featured in REBL Dad: What 100+ Fathers Reveal About Successful Leadership at Home and Work.

The book asks a question many of us carry, even if we don’t always say it out loud: Am I the best dad I can be?

For those of us leading teams in demanding industries – mining, engineering, construction, manufacturing, energy – that question hits close to home. We spend our days making decisions, solving problems, managing pressure, and trying to support the people who count on us.

Then we go home, where the stakes are even higher.

Being a good leader and being a good dad are not separate roles. They both require patience, presence, humility, self-awareness, and the willingness to keep learning. You don’t always get it right. You don’t always have the perfect answer. But you keep showing up.

That’s what I appreciate about this book. It brings together real stories from fathers, like myself, who are trying to lead well at work and at home, not perfectly, but honestly.

If you’re a dad, a father figure, a mentor, or someone trying to lead with more intention in every part of your life, I encourage you to check out REBL Dad, available on Amazon.
