95% of leaders believe they are. Only 10–15% actually are.
Harvard Business Review found that most leaders think they’re self-aware… but aren’t.Which means they’re leading with blind spots they can’t see.
I’ve worked with leaders who believed they were inspiring — but their teams found them stressful. Others thought they were decisive — when in reality, they were impulsive.
The truth is, self-awareness is the foundation of leadership. If you don’t know how you think, react, and come across to others, you’ll spend your energy reacting to problems instead of leading through them.
When you do have self-awareness?You make better decisions. You communicate more clearly. You lead with intention — not emotion.
So… are you as self-aware as you think? Go ahead — tell me your biggest weakness as a leader.
And if you’re not sure? Start by taking time to reflect, asking for honest feedback, and paying attention to how your actions affect others. It starts with being curious about yourself — and open to learning.
